DEJA VU


Deja vu is a feeling of having already experienced the
present situation.
The project deals with physical places that mentally reflect other places in a different space and time, with situations in which our surrounding loses its tangibility and a memory becomes physical, real, and a role reversal occurs.
Memories are not necessarily defined by a place. Sometimes memories define places through tangible and physical feelings from the past.
During the creative dialogue formed by strangers Olya
(Jerusalem) and Avital (Berlin), the two realized they both experience this role reversal phenomena raised by memories in common places like tree avenues.
Avital: “Every time I walk pass Berliner Str. I feel how all my senses sharpen and I am sure, for one moment, I’m in Tel Aviv…”

Olya: “The tree boulevard where I live reminds me

of my childhood in Birobidzhan, of a blue jeans suit,

bees and flies everywhere, feelings accompanied by

those…”
